Another form of folic acid is known as folate, is also referred to as vitamin M, vitamin B9. It is practically insoluble in water and most organic solvents. It dissolves in dilute acids and alkaline solutions. Its source is from chemical synthesis

Folic Acid is used to treat anemia caused by folic acid deficiency. It is also used as a supplement by women during pregnancy to prevent neural tube defects (NTDs) in the baby. Low levels in early pregnancy are believed to be the cause of more than half of babies born with neural tube defects.

Folic Acid may be applicable for all animal species and categories. It is intended for use via feed (premixtures and compound feed).
