Vitamin B2 / Feed Additive, Food Additive, API             

Also known as “Riboflavin”, is very slightly soluble in water, practically insoluble in alcohol. Its source is from microbial fermentation.

Riboflavin is involved in release of energy in the electron transport chain, the citric acid cycle, as well as the catabolism of fatty acids (beta oxidation). It is required by the body for cellular respiration.

It is mainly used in feed and food additive industry. In animals, riboflavin deficiency results in lack of growth, failure to thrive, and eventual death. Generally, the assay of feed grade vitamin B2 is 80%. Also as a dietary supplement, it is used to prevent and treat riboflavin deficiency and prevent migraines.
